Digital Content & Marketing Specialist

We want a social media-savvy marketer who understands the objectives of SEO and knows their way around a CMS (and appreciates acronyms). We are looking for organized multitaskers who can handle multiple projects at a time, and those who pay close attention to detail while also seeing the big picture. Our organization requires a good mix of creativity and professionalism, as well as strong collaboration and communication skills, and a willingness to help other team members.


  • Develop audiences and distribution channels for Farm Flavor Media’s content marketing programs

    • Work closely with clients and editors to determine and execute digital distribution strategy

    • Write, optimize and distribute press releases

    • Create engaging posts on social media that can be boosted to grow engagement, traffic

    • Collaborate on and execute traffic-building strategies

    • Help to define and implement online marketing initiatives

    • Develop and partner with “key influencers” media contacts, including editors and bloggers influential in the food and agribusiness sectors

    • Engage with relevant social media channels

  • Help manage digital content efforts

    • Optimize print content for the web, rewriting stories and adding styling as needed

    • Edit existing online content

    • Gather images for use with stories

    • Create and manage email marketing campaigns

    • Measure and analyze digital metrics with the goal of adjusting content strategy to optimize traffic; create reports as needed to show successes

  • Seek opportunities to improve our content and marketing efforts companywide

    • Write engaging content with a strong brand voice

    • Recommend new strategies to meet business goals and budgets

    • Educate client and internal teams on print, social, and digital marketing value, best practices and ongoing evolution implications

    • Ensure internal and external communication of marketing successes

    • Take on other duties that may be assigned as needed


  • Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications or similar field

  • Specific hands-on experience and proven results with social, mobile and digital marketing channels

  • Mastery of social media tools and capabilities, including:

    • Platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram

    • Facebook Ads Manager

    • Social media measurement/analytics

  • Strong experience with Google Analytics

  • Experience in WordPress or similar CMS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bonus points if you have experience in:

    • Copy editing or proofreading

    • Adobe Creative Suite (InCopy, Photoshop, etc.)

    • Final Cut or similar

    • Emma or similar email marketing program

    • Knowledge of agriculture and agribusiness

  • Above all, you must have a love of content and content marketing
