Farm Flavor Media, a division of Journal Communications Inc. in Franklin, Tenn., has an opening for a Media Sales Representative. Your main responsibility will be to sell display advertising and sponsored content for two of our most well-known brands, Tennessee Home & Farm and North Carolina Field & Family. Your selling efforts will primarily be done via phone, email and virtual meetings, but in-market sales appointments will need to be conducted throughout the year. These brands reach more than one million households quarterly through high-quality print publications, websites, e-newsletters and social marketing.

The right candidate’s background looks something like this:

  • 3+ years experience in sales, preferably in media (magazines, newspaper, digital, TV, etc.)

  • Knowledge of agriculture, rural living and/or travel

  • An understanding of website analytics and online content promotion

  • Proven sales success – meeting goals, growing business, building/maintaining relationships

  • A self-starter who is motivated by income potential and autonomy that increases with performance

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to learn and adapt to changes with company software applications

  • Exceptional organizational skills and diligence in tracking activity, progress and results with our sales support staff to ensure accurate, real-time reporting

  • Experience in interacting with advertising agencies is a plus
