We're always looking for agriculture freelance writers for our state ag guides (annual magazines presenting a non-biased look at the importance of agriculture in each state), as well as for our national food and farm website, Our assignments range from stories about agritourism, wineries, farm-to-table chefs, etc. to more hard agribusiness content, profiling farmers, businesses, commodities, exports, ag education, etc. Working knowledge of production agriculture terms is a plus, especially for farmer interviews. These assignments are planned in advance, and sources are provided and vetted. If you’re interested, email your resume and clips/portfolio to associate editor Kelly Rogers, email@example.com.
We also accept pitches for our national food and farming website, farmflavor.com – this can be state specific or national agricultural/farm/food content. Send your ideas to digital editor Rachel Graf, firstname.lastname@example.org.
